CUISINE DU MONDE

For Mardi Gras, tradition calls for festive, sweet, and indulgent recipes, often fried or very colorful.

Mardi Gras (literally “Fat Tuesday” in French) is a traditional celebration that precedes Lent, a period of fasting and penance in the Christian calendar. It takes place the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent, 46 days before Easter.

Origins:

Antiquity: The celebration has its roots in pagan spring and abundance festivals, such as the Roman Saturnalia, where people ate and feasted before periods of austerity.

Middle Ages and Christianity: The tradition was incorporated into the Christian calendar. Mardi Gras became the last day to indulge in rich foods (meat, sugar, butter) before Lent.

Carnival: In many regions, Mardi Gras is associated with Carnival, featuring parades, masks, costumes, dancing, and music.

The price includes a cooking workshop of approximately 2 hours and on-site tasting of the dishes prepared in a friendly atmosphere!

Taxes and additional beverages are not included.

To extend the experience, explore our wine, beer, and cocktail menu!

A tip will be greatly appreciated on-site to warmly thank our team.
